The Carbon for Farmers Voucher Program (CFVP) was a scheme of assistance administered by DPIRD. It was initiated in 2022 to increase the number and quality of applications to the Carbon Farming and Land Restoration Program (CF-LRP).
The CFVP helped landowners considering a carbon farming project engage professional service providers to assess project feasibility, costs and returns, and outline reporting obligations. Carbon Farming Plans also assist with project registration.
The CFVP delivered 3 funding rounds between 2022 and 2025, with vouchers offered to 130 businesses. It demonstrated the interest in accessing professional services to make informed decisions, resulting in successful applications to the CF-LRP and self-funded projects.
Each round evolved to reflect the changing nature of the industry, starting with Land Management Strategies in 2022 for the CF-LRP and finishing with Opportunity Reports and Carbon Farming Plans to cater for different stages of the journey.
DPIRD’s Carbon Farming Service Provider Directory can help anyone interested in carbon farming to engage service providers for advice and to complete Opportunity Reports or Carbon Farming Plans.
