Fishing and aquatic research

The metropolitan monitoring program collects annual data from shore and boat based recreational fishers annual from throughout the West Coast bioregion, primarily in metropolitan Perth.

Recreational fishers can play a key part in fisheries science by donating the skeletons of fish they have caught.

Data collection for the 2023/24 statewide recreational fishing survey has been completed and analysis is currently underway.
