Western Australia (WA) has biosecurity legislation that ensures we can manage the introduction, spread and impact of weeds, pests and diseases on our community, our environment and on our industries. The legislation and our management are shaped by the overarching WA Biosecurity Strategy which aims to provide for a sustainable future for the state.

Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act

The BAM Act is the primary legislation that protects our multi-billion-dollar farming, fisheries and forestry industries, as well as our unique environment and communities.

Biosecurity Council of WA

The Biosecurity Council of Western Australia is a specialist advisory group to the Minister for Agriculture and Food and the Director General of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.
