This keynote address explores WA’s demographic trajectory to 2040 and the implications for food consumption, agricultural productivity, and sustainability. It considers who we are feeding, what they expect, and how land, water, and labour constraints must shape our response.
A presentation followed by a grower-led panel unpacking strategies for increasing productivity and scale in WA horticulture. Drawing lessons from global examples and local innovation, this session will explore pathways to scale, return on capital and the enabling role of technology.
This session will explore how storytelling, consumer education, and public engagement can reframe fresh produce as an essential investment in health and community. It will consider what narratives are working, who’s telling them and where we must improve.
This session highlights the programs, funding, and tools currently available to support resilience and sustainable practices in WA horticulture. From data-driven farm management to cutting-edge water recycling and drought resilience funding, it brings together government, consultants and industry leaders to showcase how WA growers can future-proof their operations.
