Individuals using Fish Eye to transact online on behalf of a fisheries business licence/certificate holder must be registered and nominated into an online user role by the relevant business licence holder(s).
Fisheries business licence holders include:
- Managed Fishery Licence Holders (MFLs)
- Registered Receiver Certificate Holders (RRCs) or
- Processor Licence Holders (PROLs).
These can also be referred to as Authorisation or Certificate holders.
The online user roles will determine the level of access each user is entitled to. If you are a single owner licence holder and wish to use Fish Eye, you will need to nominate yourself into the appropriate role(s).
Nominated users will have access to confidential catch and entitlement information linked to the MFL, RRC or PROL that has authorised the nomination. Depending on the role they have been nominated to, they will also be able to submit Trip Returns (including Pre-Fishing, Pre-Landing and Post-landing nomination forms, and Consignment Records) and authorise Masters on behalf of the fisheries business licence holder. They will also be able to view your transaction history.
How to nominate
To nominate a person, the nomination form must be completed.
This needs to be authorised with the signature of every person named on the business licence/certificate. A separate nomination form must be completed for each individual, but more than one role can be selected.
It is important that you find out more about the different online user roles before making any nominations.

If you are nominated into the role of MFL Online Operator, you will be able to nominate and revoke Masters online, on behalf of the MFL Holder (Fish Eye online services – rock lobster only). Masters do not need to be registered with Fish Eye unless they wish to use the online services or CatchER. If you use the existing paper Catch Disposal Record (CDR) and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system, you will also need to nominate your Masters using IVR.
