Using the calculator

Values input 

• Click the input values button and enter the flock structure values by filling in the text boxes for Scenarios 1 and 2. 
  
  If you only have meat ewes/wethers, treat them as merino ewes/wether. 

Input breeding values 

• Adjust the slider for joining ratio, indicating the proportion of ewes mated to merino or terminal sires.
• Add the weaning percentage for each joining type.
• Select show results. 

Results 

• Select Scenario 1, Scenario 2, or Compare from the first drop down menu
• Select Summary, or Year 1 – 6 from the second drop down menu to view the flock structure and the changes over time.  
• Slide the mating ratio for Years 1 - 6 to determine the split between terminal sire types.
• Check comments for Years 1 - 6 and adjust inputs accordingly.
