MyPestGuide CropScout is a web and mobile device-based application designed to assist growers, consultants and other field technicians apply spray thresholds for pests in crops. Use MyPestGuide CropScout to help determine spray timing for pests, such as aphids, in crops. The information helps optimise spray timing and target sprays to pest infestations where they are clustered, such as along crop edges or in a portion of a crop.

Features

  • Determines how pests are distributed in crops and may be targeted in the field.
  • Reduces the number of plant inspections required to be confident that spraying is required.
  • Runs field sampling algorithms to optimise time and labour.
  • Automatic GPS recording, even when out of mobile and WiFi range.
  • Ability to record field name, plant growth stage, and notes for each sampling run.
  • Ability to change the spray threshold and error rate parameters for the canola aphid sequential sampling plan.
  • View personal surveys on a map online, colour-coded according to spray threshold results.
  • Export field sampling results to the ‘cloud’ or as a spreadsheet for record keeping and sharing with clients.
  • Able to be emailed to somebody else as a .kml file to view a map of results on Google Earth.

About the app

MyPestGuide CropScout is a web and mobile application designed to assist growers, consultants, and field technicians in applying spray thresholds for crop pests. The information helps optimize spray timing and target sprays to pest infestations where they are clustered, such as along crop edges or in specific portions of a crop.

The MyPestGuide CropScout field guide and pest identification app provides images and control information to help manage crop pests. CropScout simplifies crop scouting, making it easier, faster, and more accurate, thereby preventing economic damage and reducing unnecessary insecticide applications.

The app integrates with the MyPestGuide Reporter app for additional identification or advice. Reports are received by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), which identifies the pest, replies to your device, and maps the pest online for public awareness.

The CropScout app functions outside of mobile or WiFi range and can be synced with your personal account when back in range. Additional pest modules, such as those for cereal aphids, are planned for future development.

By using both MyPestGuide CropScout and MyPestGuide Reporter, you help protect agricultural industries, the natural environment, and communities from exotic grain pests.
