The AgriFutures Rural Women's Award is a leading accolade acknowledging the essential role women play in rural industries, businesses and communities. The department coordinates the delivery of the WA state award.

About the Award

For 25 years, the AgriFutures Rural Women's Award has shone a light on a network of women across regional Western Australia, who are benefiting their communities and industries through their skills, commitment and ingenuity.

Winning the award recognises not only the individuals leadership but also promotes the region, industry or business on a national platform. The winners bursary can also be used to take their project to the next level and join an extensive alumni network across Australia.

The Rural Women’s Award of WA is supported by AgriFutures, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Westpac, CBH Group, and the Rural, Regional and Remote Women’s Network of Western Australia.

Suzannah is pioneering Mottainai® Lamb, a project that combines sustainability, supply chain innovation and direct-to-chef distribution, aiming to create regional jobs and inspire female ag-tech leadership.
Fiona Mann

By transforming canola from her farm into premium cold-pressed oil, Fiona aims to scale production, expand into interstate and international markets, inspire other farmers to diversify, and showcase the Mid-West food bowl.

In partnership with a major international space company, Angela is pioneering a project to establish WA as a hub in global space communications to demonstrate that technical industries can thrive in the regions.
