In Western Australia, licences to cultivate, harvest and/or process Industrial Hemp are administered by the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) through the Industrial Hemp Registrar. The Industrial Hemp Registrar is appointed by the Minister for Food and Agriculture.
An industrial hemp licence does not authorise the extraction of cannabinols from industrial hemp.
Instructions for applicants and licence holders
If you would like to apply for a licence to cultivate, harvest and/or process industrial hemp, you must complete and submit the form 'Application for a new licence'.

Section 16 of the Industrial Hemp Act 2004 requires that an application for renewal must be made not later than 56 days before the day on which the licence is due to expire.
If you fail to submit a complete renewal application on or before this date, you will be required to commence a new licence application process.
If you would like to renew your current Industrial Hemp Licence, please complete and submit the form below called 'Renewal of industrial hemp licence'.
Submit this form, including all supporting documents as separate attachments, to hempregistrar@dpird.wa.gov.au no less than 56 days before your current industrial hemp licence is due to expire.

Section 19 of the Industrial Hemp Act 2004 allows the Registrar to amend a current industrial hemp licence to include new or remove previous premises.
Licensees must apply to the Industrial Hemp Registrar to add or remove premises to their current industrial hemp licence by completing the form 'Add or remove premises to Industrial hemp licence'.

Section 19 of the Industrial Hemp Act 2004 allows the Registrar to amend a licence to include or remove a relevant person to or from a current Industrial hemp licence.
The Industrial Hemp Act 2004 defines a relevant person as:
In the case of a partnership:
An individual:
a) who is a member of the partnership; or
b) who is concerned in the management or conduct of a body corporate that is a member of the partnership.
In the case of a Body corporate:
a) An individual who is concerned in the management or conduct of the body corporate.
The Registrar also considers any person who is concerned with the administration of the licence or responsible for the conduct of licenced activities to be a relevant person.
Licensees must apply to the Industrial Hemp Registrar to amend their current Industrial hemp licence to add or remove a relevant person.
